Question 1

How does Chamelo electrochromic lens technology work?

Accepted Answer

Chamelo lenses use a thin electrochromic film laminated between optical layers. A low-voltage signal from the temple electronics changes the molecular alignment inside the film, which darkens or lightens the lens in under a second. Our Eclipse lenses shift tint density across a measured transmission range, while Prismatic lenses shift both density and hue.

Question 2

What is the visible light transmission range of Chamelo lenses?

Accepted Answer

Ranges vary by model. Music Shield Gen 2 moves from 63% to 17% VLT, Aura and Aura Audio from 65% to 20% VLT, Dusk Classic from 38% to 4% VLT, and Zurix from 50% to 10% VLT. Every lens blocks 100% of UVA and UVB regardless of tint level.

Question 3

Are Chamelo smart glasses available with prescription lenses?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Selected frames including Aura Rx support single vision, progressive and reading prescriptions. Prescription work is fulfilled through our certified optical partners after your frame order is placed.

Question 4

How long does the battery last and how is it charged?

Accepted Answer

Tint-only models hold a charge for multiple days of typical use because power is consumed only during a tint transition, not while holding a state. Audio models depend on playback time. Zurix reaches roughly 80% charge in about 80 minutes via the included magnetic cable.

Question 5

Are Chamelo frames suitable for sport and wet conditions?

Accepted Answer

Sport models such as Music Shield, Shield and Golf Shield carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating, which covers sweat and rain splash. They are not designed for submersion or swimming.

Question 6

Does Chamelo support wholesale and distribution partners?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Chamelo works with optical retailers, sporting goods chains and regional distributors worldwide. Reach out through our contact page with your market, channel and expected volume, and our partnerships team will respond with catalogue and certification documentation.
